No Time to Lose

Helping you stay healthy

Several faculty members have been quoted in national publications with New Year's tips for helping us stay healthy, lose weight, and quit bad habits. Pharmacy Professor Navindra Seeram touted the value of berries in Good Housekeeping magazine; a gum-chewing study by Nutrition Professor Kathleen Melanson was cited in the London Mirror; a discussion of lactose intolerance in the Los Angeles Chronicle featured data from a study by Food Science Professor Chong Lee; and Psychology Professor Jim Prochaska's landmark model of behavior change was mentioned in the Chicago Tribune, Lacrosse Tribune and other publications.

Prof. Oxley still in the news

The failed Christmas Day underwear bomber has continued to lead to more and more media outlets seeking the expertise of Chemistry Professor Jimmie Oxley. The Providence Journal wrote a feature story about her work, Homeland Security Today quoted her extensively, and the Detroit Free Press and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review also used her as a resource in their stories. These follow last week's stories in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, MSNBC, Time magazine and others. There are certain to be many more in the coming weeks.
