Endeavor departs for Haiti

The R/V Endeavor departed yesterday for a scientific and humanitarian mission to Haiti -- to study the seafloor to seek geologic evidence of the devastating earthquake, and to deliver dozens of large tents for use as temporary classrooms for children. The media has taken considerable interest in this story, with Channel 10 and Channel 12 airing several reports on the project.
