GSO dean makes headlines with underwater waves

David Farmer, dean of the Graduate School of Oceanography, has generated media attention with his research on giant underwater waves that form between layers of warm and cold water in the oceans. He presented the results of his research at a meeting of the American Geophysical Union last week, where he participated in a press conference on the topic. Among those taking note were United Press International, U.S. News and World Report, the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, Softpedia, and R&D Magazine, as well as many news websites and blogs.
