Lardaro in demand

Economics Professor Leonard Lardaro has been highly visible in the news media this month as he has been called upon by numerous local media outlets to comment in a wide variety of economic issues.  He shared his insights about the slow recovery of the economy with the Providence Business News, Providence Journal and GoLocalProv, discussed the economic differences between Rhode Island and Massachusetts with the Attleboro Sun Chronicle, and provided expert commentary about the fallout from the 38 Studios collapse to WPRO radio, the Associated Press, Channel 10 and others.  Lardaro's most recent Current Conditions Index can be found here.

IEP takes center stage

The International Engineering Program has received well-earned recognition through the years for its pioneering efforts to train engineers for the global workplace, including its recent Heiskell Award for Innovation in International Education and the Simon Award for Campus Internationalization.  But the media has seldom given it the attention it deserves.  This week's edition of the Chronicle of Higher Education has changed that, with a long and glowing report on the program's history, including interviews with faculty, staff, students and alumni.

Graduation time

It's graduation time, and amid the celebrating and the awards and the congratulations are a number of stories in the media acknowledging this important time.  Several newspapers have featured notable graduates, including Erik Bettencourt in the South County Independent, Andy Rithiphong in the Woonsocket Call, Michael Brennan in the Avon (Conn.) Patch, and Ryan Kleinert in the East Brunswick (N.J.)
