Medical clinics and health care costs

A study conducted by Professor Annie De Groot found that nurse-run medical clinics can save millions of dollars in health care costs by serving patients who might otherwise go to hospital emergency rooms.    Financial news website The Street reported on the study and syndicated the story to more than two dozen other media outlets, including the West Hartford News, Litchfield County Times, Leavenworth Times, Carthage Press, Trentonian, Housatonic Times, Harrisburg Daily Register, Nebraska City News, Lorrain Morning Journal and many others.  The URI news release about the study can be found here.
