Watershed sensor network

The Rhode Island EPSCoR program was awarded a grant by the National Science Foundation to collaborate with the EPSCoR offices in Vermont and Delaware to install a sensor network to monitor the health of local watersheds. News of the grant was reported in the North Kingstown Standard TimesNarragansett Patch, EcoRI, and the Associated Press, whose story appeared in the Washington Post, Boston Globe, the Albany Times UnionDanbury News Times and elsewhere.  The URI news release on the grant can be found here.

Turtle discovery

The announcement that a URI Coastal Fellow discovered a rare turtle in a Westerly pond was met with immediate interest from the media.  The news was reported by the Providence Journal, Providence Business News and EcoRI, and an Associated Press version of the story appeared far and wide, including in the Boston Globe, Channel 10, Danbury News Times, Greenwich Time, Albany Times Union and elsewhere.  The URI news release about the discovery can be found here.
