INBRE $18.8 million grant

A URI-based initiative that has successfully expanded biomedical research capacity at nearly all of Rhode Island’s universities and colleges has been awarded another $18.8 million in federal funding to expand the program over the next five years. This latest grant brings to $61 million in funding for the Rhode Island IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence.  News of the new grant was reported by the Providence Journal, Providence Business News, Channel 10, Channel 6, Channel 12, Rhode Island Small Business Journal and the Associated Press, whose story appeared in more than a dozen news outlets including the San Francisco Chronicle, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, Tampa Tribune, Anchorage Daily News and Biloxi Sun Herald.
